Is varicose veins hereditary?

My mother has severe varicose veins, my sister also has them, and I have started to see some veins appearing gradually.

I'm planning to go to the hospital, but my mom is advising me to go in the fall instead of summer because I would have to wear compression stockings in the summer, which would be difficult.

Should I get treatment now instead? Or is it better to go in the fall as my parents suggested? I'm not very severe, but if I go, should I start wearing compression stockings right away?
