Cataract surgery

My mother was diagnosed with cataracts and has now decided to undergo surgery. However, after reading these articles, I noticed that the side effect after surgery seems to be dry eyes. I suffer from severe dry eyes and know how painful it can be. The discomfort and foreign body sensation in the eyes are very bothersome. If the side effects are severe, I wonder if she can receive separate treatment to improve it or if she will have to live with dry eyes for the rest of her life.
