What is the best way to remove acne discoloration marks?

I have old acne marks on my face; they aren't large, but they are old marks.

I am wondering if applying a skin regeneration cream now would be helpful.

Or would it be more effective to apply acne scar ointment sold at pharmacies?

Of course, laser treatment would be the simplest option, but if there is a way to remove it without surgery, I would like to try that method first.
