Will age spots on my face be completely removed with laser treatment?

Do age spots spread? It seems like the number of age spots is increasing one by one. They started out small, but they are gradually getting bigger and darker. Whitening ointments don't seem to have much effect, and whitening cosmetics aren't improving them either.

Can age spots be removed with a dermatological laser treatment? I am curious whether it can be done in one session or if multiple sessions are required, if there are any side effects such as scarring or the pigmentation becoming darker after the procedure, and how much pain is involved.
