I'm interested in semi-permanent lip makeup, but will the side effects be severe?

I usually look pale without makeup, so I tend to wear bright colors for my lips. However, after a meal or a cup of coffee, my lip tint wears off quickly and looks so dull, so I have to reapply tint or lipstick frequently.

Lately, I find it a hassle to apply lipstick constantly, so I've become interested in semi-permanent lip makeup. Has anyone tried it? I think it would be convenient once done, but would the side effects be severe?
