Is laser treatment effective for increasing freckles and blemishes around the eyes?

I am very concerned about the darkened melasma around my eyes and cheekbones. It is difficult to cover with makeup, and applying thicker makeup sometimes makes it look even messier. I have tried using vitamin packs and whitening cosmetics at home, but I haven't seen any significant results. I am worried about whether laser treatment will definitely clear up the spots, how many sessions I should receive, and whether there might be any side effects such as my skin becoming more sensitive or the pigmentation deepening.
