My review of my wound suturing procedure at the plastic surgery clinic
On a cold winter night in 2022, around 10 PM, I lost strength in my leg and, while wearing glasses, collided with the bathroom floor, resulting in a cut approximately 7 centimeters below my right eyebrow.
I was in quarantine due to COVID-19, so I drove alone to Hanlim University Hospital, but they said they couldn't perform suturing.
So, the hospital that identified a hospital where suturing was possible by contacting 119 was Ajou University Hospital, and I immediately went back to Ajou University Hospital.
Fortunately, there was a ward designated for isolating COVID-19 patients, and emergency treatment was successfully carried out.
However, there was an opinion that without a plastic surgeon, they were worried about scars.
I am over 50 years old and have a style that is indifferent to appearance, so I initially thought suturing was all that was needed, but at my wife's earnest request, we decided to have the suturing done at the plastic surgery clinic.
By the way, I heard that suturing should only be performed within 24 hours of the injury time.
The day after discharge, I visited a plastic surgery clinic in Yeongtong and while waiting for my consultation, I saw about three other patients with bandages on their eyebrow area who looked similar to me.
I thought there are many people who have slipped and gotten hurt because it's winter.
I am also a cautious person in everything, so I have never been seriously injured like this in my life, but the photo below shows the wound area after suturing.
I captured only the wound area because my face is a disgrace^^
Fortunately, I was able to visit the plastic surgery clinic the day after because I got injured on the last day of quarantine for COVID.
It is a hospital operated by a doctor who performs surgeries with almost no scars, so it is a bit far from my workplace, but I remember going every other day to disinfect after work. There are no photos from when I had the stitches removed five days later.
As a result of consistently applying the bandages and ointments for scar reduction since then, the photo below shows the current state.
It looks like a scar that is almost impossible to recognize at a glance.
I hope no one gets hurt.
Even if you get injured, don't think that you have to live with scars like me.
I trust in the skills of the doctors and the advancement of medicines, and I hope you receive good prescriptions and treatments.
Everyone stay healthy~~~
