Has anyone tried attaching resin to push the front teeth upward?

I'm undergoing orthodontic treatment, and this time I had resin attached behind my front teeth to push them forward.

Every time I close my teeth, the lower teeth touch the resin, causing discomfort, and the molars do not touch each other, making chewing almost impossible.

What kind of treatment method is this...ㅠㅠ

I feel discomfort all the way to my temporomandibular joint.

They say it will be very uncomfortable for about a week.
