(Concern) Dental braces

My daughter is undergoing root canal treatment, and once it's finished, I'm wondering whether to have a crown placed or to just monitor her tooth condition each time and consider orthodontics if needed. The dentist suggested that this might be a good opportunity to extract the tooth currently undergoing root canal treatment and proceed with orthodontics. I understand that if my daughter gets braces, she might have to endure several years of discomfort, and the costs are also a concern. I've heard that orthodontic treatment can be quite painful and requires careful management, and I'm worried whether my daughter will take good care of her teeth. She's not very good at brushing, so I also worry about having to remind her frequently.
