Inlays and Crowns

My teeth are somewhat weak, possibly due to genetic factors.

I am currently managing it to some extent, but since I had many cavities when I was young and the affected area is quite large, I am replacing them one by one. Is it better to opt for inlays whenever the boundary between inlays and crowns is ambiguous?

The next step after a crown is only an implant, so if I can save my tooth with an inlay, I would like to do an inlay filling. Are there any disadvantages to using an inlay for areas with ambiguous boundaries?
