Implant maintenance period

Is implant surgery semi-permanent? It depends on maintenance, but do you usually use it for about 10 years? There is inflammation in the crowned tooth, so it needs to be opened upㅠㅠ I will try to save it as much as possible, but if it’s unavoidable, I’ve been told I should consider an implant too, so I’m worried. It seems like I will need to visit the dentist quite a few times... Would it be better to do it at a place close to home?
