Is there a special reason for getting laminate?

When you get a laminate, your teeth look clean.

Is there any special reason why I should do this, other than this reason?

I heard that it's not good for your teeth.

Is there a reason why ordinary people do this even though celebrities do it because their profession involves showing their teeth?
