The cavity I was treated for before has cracked.

There is a tooth with a filling due to a cavity in a molar. However, I recently discovered that the tooth has cracked. There is no pain or anything, but knowing that it has cracked makes me worried. I have visited the dentist, and the doctor said it's okay, but should I just leave it as it is? Or are there any preventive measures I should take beforehand?
