Implant cost

I received a quote for a friend's implant, and we went together, but the prices vary greatly between hospitals. I'm trying not to get ripped off, but the more expensive ones claim it's due to the doctor's skill. Even though it's the same Osstem implant, can the price really differ significantly based on the practitioner's expertise?
