You have to manage it lifelong after orthodontic treatment.
I got braces when I was in my 30s because I was a bit older. It took two and a half years, and back then, that duration felt so long. When I finally heard the doctor say I didn't need to come back anymore, I felt like I was flying. But I didn't know at the time that orthodontic treatment requires lifelong maintenance. I have to wear retainers every day, and I can't remove the wire at the back of my teeth. If the wire breaks or falls off, I have to go back to the dentist for repairs. The wire often breaks and falls off. ㅜㅜ I love hard or chewy foods, but I can't eat what I like well, and sometimes I have to go to the dentist again because my retainer gets damaged... It's really an endless cycle. I heard I have to live like this until I die... I wish my kids could live without orthodontics. Looking at how my teeth are now, I think I’ll need to do it soon, though... If I had known that orthodontic treatment requires lifelong management, I wonder if I would have done it back then? Or would I still have done it? ㅎㅎ I’m curious about how I feel.
