Lifespan of teeth covered with ceramic?

About 25 years ago, I had a severe cavity and received root canal treatment.

I had it polished and fitted, with half being silver and the other half ceramic.

Since the cavity was so severe, there is hardly any root left.

How long is the lifespan of the cover?

If it's not particularly inconvenient, is it okay to just live as it is?

Since the half is silver, I also want to redo it for aesthetic reasons.

I'm worried that if I remove it now, I might have to extract the tooth completely and get an implant.

How is everyone doing?
