Has anyone used resin for cavities for a long time?

I developed a cavity and was recommended resin treatment.
I am curious how many years it usually lasts without any problems.
I've heard that it lasts a long time if you take good care of it. Is that true?
I would also like to know if you experienced any discomfort after the treatment.
