Does using a tongue cleaner also help with dental health?

Until now, I haven't used a separate tongue cleaner and have just been cleaning my tongue with a toothbrush when brushing my teeth.

For some reason, I feel like using a tongue cleaner would be much more effective for oral hygiene, so I am considering using one.

Are there any Cashdoc members who use a tongue cleaner when brushing their teeth?
