Sharing my experience with the effectiveness of temporary GI material treatment during pregnancy
Since I was pregnant, taking X-rays was difficult, which significantly limited my dental treatment. Under those circumstances, I had a temporary filling made of GI material, but unfortunately, it fell out after only two weeks. I subsequently revisited the clinic and received another temporary filling with GI, and now I am maintaining it well while being careful with hard foods.
Since dental treatment is limited during pregnancy, I was very worried about how long the GI material would be effective, but initially, it worked quite well. I chose it as a temporary treatment because the GI material itself provides a certain degree of adhesion and protection to the tooth, but it fell off after just two weeks, and I felt its limitations firsthand.
So, even while receiving follow-up treatment, I felt that the temporary GI treatment was not completely effective, and this time, the dentist explained the care methods in detail. In particular, they mentioned that avoiding hard foods like nuts is very helpful in effectively maintaining the temporary filling.
Lately, I have been living carefully to maximize the effectiveness of the GI material, and I actually feel like I am improving as the temporary treatment site is staying much more stable than before. I think this experience might be of some help to those who are undergoing temporary treatment with GI materials due to pregnancy restrictions.
I think that while GI materials are effective in limited treatment situations during pregnancy, caution is necessary because their effectiveness varies significantly depending on maintenance. I plan to continue managing it well and get another check-up.
