Would it be better to replace the molar that was previously treated with amalgam with resin?

A very long time ago, I had a cavity in my molar treated with amalgam.
I have been living well without any major problems so far.
However, nowadays, amalgam is rarely used for cavity treatment.
I heard they use resin or gold.
So, I wonder if it would be better to replace the amalgam with resin even now.
Or, since there is no problem, it is better to keep the amalgam as is.
I wonder if it is a better choice for dental health.
