Question - What is the cause of skin itching?

Since summer, I've been experiencing severe itching all over my body.
Maybe because this summer was so hot, I sweat a lot. I started getting heat rash, and then it began to itch.
My arms, thighs, and feet are insanely itchy all over.
My hands itch, and everywhere I have skin feels itchy.
I scratched myself while sleeping, and it bled and scabbed over.
Sometimes I don't even realize the scab has formed, and I scratch it off, causing the scab to fall off and bleeding to start again.ㅠ
As a result, it hurts and stings when it comes into contact with waterㅠㅠ
Itching that comes and goes repeatedly...
I need to go to the hospital, but I keep postponing itㅠ
The reason I didn't go to the hospital was that I felt a bit better as time passed.

So I thought I was okay and didn't go to the hospital. But after some time, it started to itch again. Then I would scratch like crazy, the itching would subside a bit, and then it would itch again, repeating this cycle continuously.
I usually didn't have eczema or hives, so why is my skin like this?
I usually don't drink much alcohol and avoid eating certain foods because of my skin, but there's no sign of improvement, and it's very painfulㅠ
