(Treatment Review) Emergency care and surgical review after biting the tongue
2023.11.25 12:20
Have you ever bitten your tongue and hurt yourself, especially when eating?
I have bitten so badly that I even had to get stitches, so I always live cautiously.
As seen in the picture, especially that area tends to tear easily on the molars.
At first, I thought it would be okay and spent the day, but the wound kept opening and bleeding, so I had no choice but to go to the hospital.
If you also feel that the wound is severely injured when making a judgment, I recommend going to the hospital immediately for suturing.
If you have a severe injury on your tongue, it doesn't heal well because of bacteria and moisture.
I foolishly endured a situation that could have been easily treated with suturing, almost exceeding 24 hours and nearly unable to perform the suturing.
I went a little late, so even now, after about ten years, the scar area is still slightly raised, but I am living without any problems.
Although I try to be careful afterward, I occasionally develop small or large sores on my tongue.
When making judgments, I tend to treat minor wounds myself.
When there are sores or inflammation in the tongue or mouth,
First, wash your hands to prevent any potential additional infections.
Later, I found that using OraMedina Curatic oral wound protection patches was effective for self-treatment.
Among the medications I have used, the one I personally liked the most was the mouth ulcer treatment called Albochil.
However, Albochil may cause a burning sensation at the wound site, so children might experience pain.
If the wound area swells, applying ice massage can be effective.
I would like to share my way of dealing with mouth sores when they occur.
Wishing everyone a healthy daily life~~~
