Does something like this (little toe) also qualify as athlete's foot?

I always thought it was because my little toe nail was pressed against my shoe, but could this be athlete's foot? I've never thought of it as athlete's foot, but I suddenly thought it might be. If it is athlete's foot, I want to know if I can change it with ointment or something.
