Calluses on the front of the foot and under the big toe

As you can see in the picture, I have calluses on the bottom of my soles and big toes that won't go away. And it's not only a cosmetic problem, but those areas hurt sometimes. Do you know what's causing this? Is it because I have flat feet that I have calluses? I didn't have any before. And I'm also curious about how to get rid of them.
