Sharing my experience with an eye exam for macular degeneration treatment.
I regularly visit an ophthalmologist for macular degeneration treatment and follow-up. I discovered it during a health checkup about 10 years ago, and I'd like to share the process of macular degeneration treatment. I hope this will be helpful to those looking for information on macular degeneration treatment.
I learned I had macular degeneration during a health checkup, and I'm managing it by getting regular checkups at a larger hospital for macular degeneration treatment and more detailed examinations. During my annual checkup, I was diagnosed with macular degeneration in my left eye. After looking into macular degeneration, I learned it's a common age-related disease, the leading cause of blindness. Suddenly, I was terrified, so I went to the ophthalmology department and had various tests done. I had a CT scan, various fundus exams, and a retinal exam. I even had eye drops that dilated my pupils. After undergoing tests for macular degeneration treatment, they diagnosed me with macular degeneration in one eye. Fortunately, I still have dry eyes, so I didn't need any special treatment and just needed regular checkups. At the hospital, I received something called an Amsler grid. It's a straight line, but when I covered one eye and looked at it with the eye with macular degeneration, the line didn't appear straight, but curved like ramen noodles. So I put an Amsler grid on the wall in my room.. He told me that if my symptoms got worse, I would need macular degeneration treatment, and to come to the hospital if I couldn't see well. At first, I went to the hospital every six months for checkups, and now I get macular degeneration treatment checkups once a year. Macular degeneration used to be a disease that only affected the elderly, but these days, it seems to be occurring in younger people as well. The doctor said that the cause is unknown. He said that avoiding sunlight was good, so I think I bought sunglasses right away. I always wear a hat and sunglasses when the sunlight is strong. It's been about 10 years, but the symptoms are still the same. If anyone has been diagnosed or treated for macular degeneration, I hope you take good care of yourself.
