Are cruciferous vegetable smoothies really effective for constipation?
Hello. I am an office worker who has been suffering from constipation since my teens. Recently, the stress at work has worsened my constipation symptoms, and I am now having bowel movements only once a week.
Recently, I often come across stories on social media that smoothies made with cruciferous vegetables are really good for constipation. Smoothies made from cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, kale, and cabbage are said to help with gut health.
But I wonder if it really works. Would it help with stress-induced constipation like mine? Has anyone who has tried a cruciferous vegetable smoothie actually experienced any benefits?
I'm curious about which recipes might be effective. Should I just include broccoli, or should I mix various cruciferous vegetables? I would appreciate any advice on what other ingredients to add.
I also want to know how often and when is the most effective to drink it in a day. Is it better to drink on an empty stomach in the morning, or is it better to drink it as a meal replacement?
I want to resolve constipation naturally rather than relying on over-the-counter laxatives. If there are other natural foods or lifestyle habits that help with constipation besides cruciferous vegetable smoothies, I would really appreciate it if you could share them with me.
Having suffered from constipation for a long time, I now desperately want to find a solution. Please share your experiences or advice.
