Pain and swelling on the top of the left foot in elderly patients

My mother is 88 years old this year, and she has had pain on the top of her left foot and slight swelling for the past ten days.
Since they are elderly and have difficulty moving, visiting the hospital is also challenging. Are there any home care methods or treatments that can be used for these symptoms?
