To make onion tea

I collected about two mesh bags worth of onion skins.

The benefits of onions have been known since childhood.

My mom often makes side dishes to help improve my blood quality.

They made various things for me.

 

Making onion tea is easy.

It takes time to gather onions.

1️⃣ May help with heart health
The quercetin inside onions is a highly concentrated flavonoid antioxidant and a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, which helps reduce risk factors for heart diseases such as hypertension. According to a study, 162 mg of onion extract was administered daily to 70 overweight hypertensive patients, resulting in a reduction of systolic blood pressure by 3-6 mmHg compared to the control group.

Onions contain more than 25 different flavonoid antioxidants, including the previously mentioned quercetin.

According to a review paper that examined 26 studies, people who consumed a lot of vegetables from the Allium family, such as garlic and onions, had a 22% lower likelihood of being diagnosed with stomach cancer compared to those who did not.

A study involving 42 patients with type 2 diabetes found that consuming 3.5 ounces (100g) of red onion reduces fasting blood sugar levels by approximately 40 mg/dL after 4 hours, and several animal studies also indicate that onion intake may help with blood sugar regulation.

 

Can increase bone density 5️⃣
According to a study involving 507 premenopausal and postmenopausal women, those who consumed onions more than once a day had 5% higher bone mineral density than those who consumed them once or less, and women who frequently ate onions showed more than a 20% reduction in the risk of hip fractures compared to women who did not eat onions at all.

6️⃣ Has the ability to exert antimicrobial effects
According to in vitro studies, quercetin extracted from onion skins has been shown to inhibit the growth of Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which cause gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal problems, as well as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, which causes body infections.

7️⃣ Can improve digestive health
Onions are rich in prebiotics such as inulin and fructooligosaccharides, which can help increase beneficial bacteria, strengthen gut health, and improve immune function.
