I have a cough and a sore throat. Can I go to the hospital in advance?

When I woke up in the morning, my throat felt itchy and I was about to cough. I wonder if it will get better or if it will worsen since tomorrow is the weekend. After suffering from a cough cold for over a month before, I get a bit scared whenever I cough. It still seems to be in the early stage of a cold, but should I go to the hospital now? Or should I wait until it gets worse? The medication would probably be different!
