Does the scalp clinic at the beauty salon really work for hair loss?

I was thinking of getting a haircut because I am losing a lot of hair, so I visited a beauty salon. The director said that I have a lot of heat in my hair and many pimples on my scalp, and warned that if I continue like this, I might develop hair loss. He recommended a scalp clinic, but the price was too burdensome, so I said I would think about it and left. Does scalp clinic treatment actually work? Can I do it myself at home? Has anyone who has tried it seen any effects?
