Kim Kyung-wook Internal Medicine Clinic in Namyangju, Review of Early Treatment for a Stye

At first, my eyelid was just slightly swollen and painful to the touch, but as time passed, my eye felt heavy and I started getting a headache as well. I thought it was just due to fatigue, but the throbbing pain grew and I couldn't concentrate, so I went to the hospital. The ophthalmologist immediately diagnosed it as a stye and prescribed eye drops, eye ointment, and oral medication; they said that if you go in the early stages, it can be sufficiently treated with medication. Indeed, after receiving the antibiotic prescription, the swelling and pain definitely decreased, and I felt like the inflammation subsided quickly when I took the medicine.

However, the headache persisted, so I went to an internal medicine clinic as well. The doctor told me that it often occurs due to both inflammation and fatigue. They mentioned that in severe cases, tenderness around the eyes can make it feel like the headache extends to the head. The doctor prescribed painkillers and basic anti-inflammatory medication, and after taking them together, the headache went away quickly.

In conclusion, if left untreated, a stye can persist for a long time or, in severe cases, require lancetization, so it is much faster to visit a doctor early. Also, if a headache accompanies it, it indicates that the issue is not just an eye problem but also a problem with your overall physical condition, so it is best to manage both together.
