Since the night before yesterday, my ear started to hurt gently, then gradually swelled, making the ear hole smaller. I also felt like I couldn't hear the TV well, and even chewing to eat was very painful. I thought it would get better after a little while, but it worsened, so I decided to visit Duri ENT Clinic in front of Costco, which is nearby and has many good reviews for being friendly. It was around 11 a.m. on Saturday, and I thought there wouldn't be many people at the hospital, so I set out by car, not knowing how crowded Costco would be. When I arrived at the hospital parking lot, I found it to be very small compared to the building. There was no parking space, so after much 고민, I decided to leave and park somewhere else, then walked a little to the hospital.

Next to the entrance, there were signs with consultation information and hours. Except for the second and fourth Sundays and public holidays, there are no days off, so it's convenient to visit when you suddenly fall ill like me. It wasn't open for long, so it was clean and nice. There were two consultation rooms, and since it's an otolaryngology clinic, a respiratory treatment room was also well equipped on one side.

There weren't many people, so I registered and was called by my name quite quickly. The staff kindly explained everything I was curious about and spoke to me comfortably, which I appreciated. They said I had otitis externa. They took a picture of my ear canal and showed it to me, and it was very inflamed and red. They said the inflammation was caused by injury from poking or scratching the ear, which must have hurt just by touching or chewing on the ear. A few days ago, I scratched my ear quite hard because it was very itchy, and I didn't realize it would cause a problem. They originally prescribed a three-day course of medication and told me to visit again, but I said I might not be able to come that day, so they prescribed five days' worth.

They say you usually need to take medication and undergo treatment for about a week. Still, since this medication only needs to be taken for 5 days, you should take it well and recover quickly. Everyone, be very careful when cleaning your ears. If you get otitis externa like me, it can be more painful than you think, and if you're not careful, it could develop into a more serious condition.
