  1. puffer fish

Pufferfish is a highly toxic food. Even a small amount of the tetrodotoxin found in pufferfish can be fatal. Cooking pufferfish requires expert guidance. Consuming pufferfish incorrectly can be life-threatening, so following safe cooking methods is crucial.

2. Salmon (raw)

Eating raw salmon carries the risk of infection with a parasite called Anisakis. Anisakis can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain and vomiting, so it's best to cook salmon before eating. Always exercise caution when eating raw salmon.

3. Apple

Apples are well-known for their health benefits, but their seeds contain a natural toxin called hydrogen cyanide. Excessive seed consumption can cause headaches, dizziness, and vomiting. For safe consumption, always remove the seeds before eating apples.

.

4. Cabbage (fermented)

Cabbage is a famous ingredient in kimchi, but if fermented improperly, it can produce botulism toxin. This toxin can cause nerve paralysis and respiratory distress. When making kimchi, be sure to strictly observe hygiene and avoid using cabbage that is in poor condition. It's crucial to always check the condition of fermented cabbage before consuming it.

5. Dried clams

Dried clams and oysters can become contaminated with Vibrio bacteria if stored improperly. This bacteria can cause gastroenteritis and can be particularly dangerous for those with weakened immune systems. For safety, always cook dried seafood before consuming.

6. Sora

Conch contains a neurotoxin called tetramine, which can cause diarrhea, vomiting, and visual impairment if consumed in excess. Furthermore, some conchs contain salivary glands, which can be harmful if consumed without removing them. Therefore, it's crucial to remove the salivary glands before consuming conch.

7. Oysters

Oysters are known as a nutritious and healthy food during the winter. However, eating them raw carries the risk of contamination with microorganisms like norovirus and Vibrio spp. These microorganisms can cause food poisoning or even serious infections. Oysters must be cooked before consumption.

8. Tuna

Tuna can contain a substance called histamine, which is produced when tuna is not fresh or has been improperly stored. Histamine poisoning can cause headaches, rashes, and vomiting. Tuna should be consumed fresh.

9. Avocado

Avocados are highly nutritious and a popular food, but their seeds contain a toxic substance called hydroxyacetamide. Excessive consumption of these seeds can lead to a buildup of toxins in the body. To ensure safety, always remove the seed before eating avocados.

10. Ginger

Ginger is a versatile ingredient used in a variety of dishes, but rotten ginger can produce a toxic substance called safrole. Safrole is classified as a carcinogen, and any rotten parts must be removed before consumption. It is best to use fresh ginger.

11. Fish roe (especially salmon roe and cod roe)

Fish roe can sometimes be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. Botulism can cause nerve paralysis, and even fermented or salted fish roe can produce toxins if improperly stored. Before consuming fish roe, carefully check its storage conditions.
