During seasonal transitions like these, when the temperature difference between day and night is significant, our bodies struggle to adapt, weakening our immune systems and making us more susceptible to colds. This is why a healthy diet is crucial for maintaining immunity during these transitional periods.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Korea Food Safety Information Service on the 23rd, taking sufficient vitamins and drinking warm water can help prevent colds.

 

Consuming plenty of vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins and minerals can help boost your immune system. Vitamin C-rich foods like peppers, paprika, and oranges are easily destroyed when cooked, so it's best to eat them raw.

 

Drinking plenty of warm water is also good for blood circulation and metabolism during the seasonal change. Drinking plenty of water helps improve blood circulation and boosts metabolism. Warm water also helps reduce inflammation in the bronchial tubes, relieving pain by soothing a sore throat caused by frequent coughing.

Finely grated radishes or mixed with honey and made into tea are also beneficial when experiencing cold symptoms. Radishes contain sinigrin, which has antipyretic properties, thins phlegm, and strengthens bronchial mucosa. Radish peels are rich in vitamin C, which helps boost immune function.

 

Also Yuzu is a food widely known to be rich in vitamin C. Yuzu contains about three times more citric acid than lemon, making it effective in relieving cold symptoms such as soothing throat inflammation and coughing. The citric acid in yuzu breaks down lactic acid, effectively relieving fatigue. Furthermore, the limonene in yuzu helps soothe throat inflammation and is effective for sore throats accompanied by coughing. The hesperidin component in yuzu peel helps with cancer, antibacterial activities, and liver detoxification, and is effective in relieving cough symptoms by soothing coughs.
