The brand's irresponsibility in trivializing the memory of ‘Tank Day’ and ‘Slam on the Desk!’

Starbucks’ slogans "Tank Day" and "Slam on the Desk!" released during the May 18 Democracy Movement Commemoration Day period deeply wounded many people. The historical context evoked by these expressions is too heavy to be dismissed as mere promotional wording. This initiative, which seems to subtly mock the pain of those who sacrificed for democracy, demonstrates the brand's irresponsibility. Consuming a day meant to be remembered as a commercial event ultimately only leads to a loss of social trust. If a company truly wishes to stand with society, shouldn't it first demonstrate at least a minimum level of historical respect and responsibility?
