The hospital I will introduce is Samsung Eye Clinic located in Seoul.
As I got older, my eyesight started to deteriorate due to cataracts and presbyopia.
At first, I didn't pay much attention and just went to the ophthalmologist for treatment. But as time went on, reading became difficult, and daily life, including driving, became more challenging. So, I finally decided to undergo presbyopia correction surgery.
As the saying goes, "If your body is worth a thousand nyang, your eyes are worth nine hundred nyang," so I couldn't easily get surgery on my precious eyes at just any hospital. I searched the internet and listened endlessly to the stories of people I knew who had undergone the surgery.
After deciding on surgery and reading reviews and asking around for over a month, I decided to go to a hospital where an acquaintance of mine had the procedure. Living in the countryside, I called the hospital to make an appointment, then went in for a consultation. After undergoing various eye exams, I decided to focus on the less affected eye. Instead of being told I had to do everything, I trusted the doctor's advice, which included taking the results of the tests and considering my future.
I was given a surgery date and was admitted for one day.
Since the hospital is located in Seoul, those living nearby could be admitted the same day, but since I live in the countryside, I was admitted the day before and had the surgery. The surgery, including recovery time, took about 30 to 40 minutes. I was given post-operative precautions and a prescription for medication, and made an appointment for my next visit. After the surgery, I didn't feel like I had found my light right away. The doctor in charge said my vision would return to its original state over time. Of course, my vision improved significantly compared to before the surgery. I started taking care of my eyes like that, and I went to the hospital every three months for eye exams. After a year, I was able to see text on my phone with perfect clarity, and I was able to drive without any problems.
I hesitated for quite some time before having this surgery, but I'm so glad I did. I'm also grateful to the doctor who always treated me kindly.
If there is anyone who is considering surgery, I hope my story will be helpful, so I am introducing the hospital I went to.
