This refers to a pilot project that will begin in December 2022, where pediatricians will provide customized in-depth education and counseling services for infant and toddler health and development management at hospitals and clinics.

With the child population continuing to decline, the importance of individual child health is increasing, but the infrastructure for specialized child care is shrinking. The difficulty of medical and family care in the infant and toddler years is high, yet there is a shortage of specialists. Young parents have a strong demand for parenting information, but the information is insufficient.
This is a pilot project to strengthen health management in the early stages of child development by having pediatricians working at hospitals and clinics provide development management for infants and toddlers, as well as customized education and counseling services for children.

It is said that medical institutions selected as participating institutions in the pilot project will provide in-depth education and counseling on △overall growth △psychological counseling △physical development including obesity management △chronic disease management △enhancement of cognitive ability, etc. up to 3 times a year by pediatric and adolescent specialists who have completed the training course in advance for children aged 0 to 2 (under 36 months) according to a standardized protocol.
