What is the pilot project for in-depth pediatric primary care consultations?

It refers to a pilot project starting from December 2022 in medical institutions at the hospital and clinic level, where pediatric specialists provide child-specific in-depth education and counseling services for health and developmental management of infants and young children.

As the child population continues to decline, the importance of individual children's health is increasing, but the infrastructure for specialized pediatric care is decreasing. During infancy and early childhood, the difficulty of medical treatment and home care is high, yet there is a shortage of specialized personnel, and although young parents have a high demand for parenting information, there is a lack of available information.
Through the pilot project, pediatric specialists working in hospitals and clinics provide early childhood developmental management, tailored educational and counseling services for children, aiming to strengthen health care during the early stages of child development.

Selected healthcare institutions participating in the pilot project will provide in-depth education and counseling up to three times a year, conducted by pediatric specialists who have completed pre-education courses, following standardized protocols for children aged 0 to under 36 months (under 3 years). The counseling will cover overall growth, psychological counseling, obesity management, chronic disease management, and cognitive development.

It’s amazing that such in-depth consultations can also be available during infant and young child checkups or when needed!!!
