Honest review of visiting Chungbuk National University Hospital Emergency Room for COVID-19

Honest review of visiting Chungbuk National University Hospital Emergency Room for COVID-19

There are about three emergency rooms near where I live.

The largest among them is the emergency room at Chungbuk National University.

An emergency room where you can run anytime, 24 hours a day, when you're sick

It's really a blessing that the university hospital emergency room is nearby.

Moreover, there is a separate pediatric ward in the emergency room, so you can see a pediatrician.

It is one of the hospitals loved in the community.

However, my review is not a good experience.

The child has a high fever at night.

Last year, when COVID-19 was at its peak, I immediately rushed to the Chungbuk National University Emergency Room.

Of course, since I had a fever and needed to go to the isolation ward, I couldn't go to the pediatric emergency ward.

You can also see a pediatrician in the isolation ward.

But I really went through a tough time..ㅜㅜ

On the way, the child vomited in the car, and while wearing a mask, the vomit flowed down the upper body.

I had no choice but to take off my upper garment.

There were no other blankets in the car, and I only brought one short-sleeved shirt to wear.

When I entered the hospital, the air conditioning was blasting... The child who was just starting to shiver from the chills was trembling because it was too cold.

When you have a high fever, even in a hot place, you feel cold and your whole body shivers.

However, I think I waited in that state for almost an hour.

I heard there are no available beds in the isolation ward.

I requested a blanket, but they said they cannot provide it due to regulations.

I hugged the child with my whole body and waited outside the hospital as much as possible to avoid the air conditioning.

Maybe they can't hear when called, so they keep coming in and out.

I waited for a long time and then entered the isolation ward.

They said blankets are not allowed there either.

Since the isolation ward is entirely composed of high fever patients, many people are likely experiencing chills, so why can't they be given a blanket?

Fortunately, my husband brought me clothes late.

After taking the fever reducer, the fever subsided and the chills also stopped.

Until then, whenever I saw a child trembling with blue lips under the air conditioner breeze, my heart truly ached.

And the pediatrician came and informed us that the COVID test came back positive.

At that time, I asked about the dosage of antipyretics related to cross-using antipyretics.

They say they don't know. I would think a pediatrician would know that as a basic.

You can find it just by searching on the blog, but I wanted to hear the doctor's explanation clearly...

Seeing you look troubled, I thought there's no point in asking further, so I understood.

I received a prescription for medication. There was a fever reducer prescribed, but I wonder how you calculated the dosage for this...

It's just something that automatically comes out when you input it into the system, right?

But this was not the end here.

I came home exhausted after paying while holding my sick child.

The full cost of the COVID-19 test was billed.

I didn't order the test myself, nor was it based on a doctor's judgment, so why am I being billed in full?

I called the hospital administration office to complain, and they will check with the responsible doctor.

The refund has been processed.

Actually, a few months ago, suddenly one morning, my child's face swelled up like a Ho-Ppang Man.

I also went to the emergency room at Chungbuk National University Hospital, and the same pediatrician came again.

There is no known cause, and there is nothing I can do.

They said to go to pediatrics when it gets light out, right?

I wondered if I had heard it wrong.

Since the university hospital couldn't resolve it, go to a small pediatric clinic... Is this correct? Haha

In the end, I went to the local pediatric clinic I visited the next day.

You looked and diagnosed sialadenitis without any additional tests, took medication, and recovered immediately.

Since then, children do not go there when they are sick.

I think I will go when there is an injury. Actually, I was satisfied after going quickly for an examination when I hurt my head before.

I don't think the emergency room at Chungbuk National University Hospital is bad.

It's a good hospital. Many people come here.

Emergency rooms are originally places where it is difficult to receive complete medical care.

Even considering that, the pediatrician in the emergency room was a bit... no, quite, quite disappointing.

    고생하셨네요 추정컨데 독감도 같이 걸리지 안았을까 생각됩니다. 요즘 대표적 유행 전염증상 이라네요. 그래서 더 배로 아프다네요 ㅡㅡ ㅎㄷㄷ;
