Does the effect of Botox wear off if I drink alcohol after getting it?

I'm planning to get Botox soon, and I'm wondering when I can start drinking alcohol after the procedure.

Unfortunately, I have a gathering a few days after the procedure that might require drinking alcohol, so I am worried that the effects might wear off or I might experience side effects.

The hospital advised me to abstain from alcohol for a few days, but I am also curious about the exact reason why I shouldn't drink.
