"Taeguk martial artists have strong hearts"... What is the relationship between heart health and heart rate?

Does a faster heart rate mean a shorter lifespan?

According to a large-scale study conducted in China, people with a high-normal resting heart rate of 80-90 have a 40% shorter lifespan compared to those with a heart rate of 60-69.

However, the good news is that engaging in moderate exercise such as brisk walking for about 15 to 30 minutes daily can offset the increased mortality risk and reverse lifespan loss.

Experts say, "This study shows that physical activities such as exercise can play an important role in maintaining heart health and providing a longer lifespan," and "Even moderate physical activity has benefits."

Is high blood pressure more dangerous than a high heart rate?

That's correct. When blood pressure exceeds the average, the risk of heart disease or stroke increases. Hypertension affects the body's blood vessels.

Experts say that "based on a systolic blood pressure of 115 mmHg, the risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, or chronic kidney disease doubles with each 20 mmHg increase." An increase in heart rate may also be a sign of risk, but the causal relationship is not clear.

According to research, people with a higher resting heart rate are more likely to experience heart problems and premature cardiac death. However, it remains unclear whether a rapid heart rate is the cause of the problem or a signal of what is happening.

Do heart rate and blood pressure always change together?

It is true that blood pressure and heart rate often rise or fall together. For example, when in danger, blood pressure and pulse rate both spike rapidly.

However, an increase in heart rate does not automatically mean an increase in blood pressure. The same applies in the opposite case.

좋은 정보 감사합니다. 어렴풋이 들은 비슷한 얘기가 있었던 것 같아요.
확실히 심장이 빠르게 뛰는것보단 느리게 뛰는게 좋은 거군요
