Improvement of essential hypertension
Essential hypertension refers to a condition in which blood pressure is persistently high. This medication helps regulate blood pressure in essential hypertension to prevent complications. It is mainly used in hypertensive patients and stabilizes blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, it is used for essential hypertension.
Take 30-60 mg once daily regardless of meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 120 mg once daily. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). No initial dose adjustment is needed for elderly individuals under 70 years of age. Elderly individuals over 70 years are recommended to start with a dose of 30 mg once daily. For patients with renal impairment, severe renal impairment patients...
The safety and efficacy of this medication for children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established.
This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients who are allergic to this drug or its components, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients undergoing dialysis, those with moderate to severe liver dysfunction, patients with biliary obstruction, diabetic patients with certain kidney diseases, and those with genetic metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Patients with a deficiency of blood volume or sodium, patients with impaired renal function, patients with renal artery hypertension, aortic stenosis, and primary aldosteronism must use this medication cautiously and administer it while closely monitoring their condition. During treatment, symptoms such as headaches and dizziness can occur frequently, and various side effects including liver function abnormalities, muscle stiffness, skin rashes, and low blood pressure have been reported rarely. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, symptoms of hypotension may occur if there is a lack of blood volume or sodium, so caution is required when starting or increasing the dosage. Furthermore, because hyperkalemia may occur, it is important to regularly check potassium levels in the blood. When used in combination with other antihypertensives or diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and others, interactions may occur, so it is necessary to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medication, and breastfeeding mothers should consult a specialist before taking it. The safety of this medication for children under the age of 18 has not been established, so its use is not recommended. No special dosage adjustment is needed for the elderly, but caution is required due to the potential for sensitive reactions. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe liver dysfunction and should be used cautiously in patients with mild or moderate liver dysfunction. In case of an overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, palpitations, and bradycardia may occur, so immediate medical treatment is needed. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for safety.
