Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the blood), sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), or those with kidney diseases. Additionally, individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe symptoms of renal failure should not use this medication. During the use of this medication, it is important not to take medications like phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids concomitantly. Consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential before use for infants under 1 year, currently treated patients, children who receive ample sunlight and have normal diets, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, breastfeeding women, premature infants, and young children. Particularly, caution is needed as Vitamin D components can be transmitted through breast milk to newborns, potentially causing hypercalcemia. Patients with heart or circulatory issues, kidney disorders, hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and pregnant women should consult professionals prior to taking this medication. If severe adverse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hypotension, flushing of the face, irregular heartbeat, skin rash, cardiac arrest, central nervous system dysfunction, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, or edema occur during treatment, discontinue usage immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Additionally, excessive consumption of Vitamin B12 may cause blood anomalies, thus requiring attention. Symptoms such as gastrointestinal disturbances, hypernatremia, congestive heart failure, and edema may arise from overdose, and prolonged use may lead to hypercalcemia and nephrolithiasis. Extreme caution is necessary when taken concurrently with aldosterone antagonists or triamterene due to the risk of hyperkalemia. If symptoms do not improve after more than one month of use, consult a professional. This medication should strictly adhere to the prescribed usage and dosage, and supervision is necessary when administering to children. During treatment, it is advisable to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green and black tea. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight, in a cool and dry place out of reach of children. It is also important not to transfer this medication to another container for the purpose of maintaining quality and preventing misuse.
