Effective for the treatment of symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (including ankylosing spondylitis).
Naproxen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are used to relieve symptoms of chronic joint diseases such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. However, this medication can increase the risk of developing gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers, so caution is required. It is particularly used for patients who have not responded adequately to low-dose Naproxen or other NSAIDs. This medication helps reduce inflammation and pain, improving the quality of life for patients. Therefore, it is effectively used for treating symptoms of these conditions.
Adults: Take 1 tablet (Naproxen 500 mg/Esomeprazole 20 mg) orally twice a day. This medication should not be divided, chewed, or crushed; swallow it whole with water. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals.
This medication contains both analgesics and gastrointestinal protectants. First, individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks of alcohol per day must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as concurrent use with alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Additionally, the ingredients in this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases; therefore, people with a history of heart disease or stroke or risk factors must use this medication cautiously. Careful monitoring for cardiovascular symptoms should begin at the start of treatment, and if any symptoms arise, they should consult a physician immediately. Regarding gastrointestinal issues, this medication may cause serious side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforations; thus, elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disorders should be particularly cautious. If any symptoms related to gastrointestinal bleeding or pain occur during treatment, they should seek immediate medical attention. This medication is not indicated for certain patients, including those with hypersensitivity to Naproxen or Esomeprazole, active peptic ulcer disease, severe hepatic or renal impairment, severe heart failure, or women in late pregnancy. Furthermore, patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood disorders, hepatic or renal dysfunctions, hypertension, or asthma should use this medication more cautiously and may require regular monitoring. While very rare, various side effects such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal symptoms, blood and liver abnormalities, neurological symptoms, and skin rashes may occur during treatment. If any abnormal symptoms appear, they should consult a physician immediately. Specifically, this medication has many drug interactions; therefore, it is essential to inform the physician of any medications currently being taken, especially if taking certain antiviral medications, anticoagulants, diuretics, antidepressants, etc. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the last three months, and breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established, and it is not recommended for this age group. Elderly individuals are at higher risk for gastrointestinal bleeding, so the minimum effective dose should be cautiously administered, and careful attention should be paid to potential adverse reactions. This medication may induce drowsiness or weakness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. When taking this medication, do not divide, chew, or crush the tablets; swallow them whole with water. It is recommended to take it at least 30 minutes before meals. Finally, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers.
