This medication is used for various inflammatory and painful conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis (tendonitis), acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It is also effective for bursitis, strains or sprains due to muscle and ligament damage, pain due to trauma, lower back pain, post-surgical pain, migraine, and pain after tooth extraction. In short, this medication helps alleviate inflammation and pain caused by joint and musculoskeletal diseases. It is advisable for patients to understand that this medication is used to improve pain and inflammation.
1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: As naproxen, take 250-500 mg (1-2 capsules) orally twice daily (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: As naproxen, take an initial dose of 750 mg (3 capsules) orally and continue with 250 mg (1 capsule) orally every 8 hours until the attack subsides. 3. Skeletal muscle disorders, postoperative pain, pain after tooth extraction, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis.
This medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day; therefore, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, leading to serious issues such as heart attack or stroke, so individuals with cardiovascular disease or risk factors should exercise particular caution. This medication can cause serious problems such as bleeding, ulcers, or perforation in the stomach or intestines, so elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases should use it with caution. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, heart failure, kidney impairment, hypertension, or those allergic to any component of this medication should not take it. Individuals who have shown allergic reactions to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the past, such as asthma, rhinitis, or hives, should also avoid using this medication. Patients with a history of peptic ulcers or bleeding tendencies, or those with liver or kidney disorders, should take this medication carefully and consult a doctor immediately if any unusual symptoms occur. If allergic reactions such as rash, difficulty breathing, or low blood pressure occur while taking this medication, it should be stopped immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea may occur, and in severe cases, gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers may develop, so caution is warranted. Regular blood tests are necessary as abnormalities such as leukopenia or anemia may occur. Liver or kidney dysfunction may develop, so liver and kidney function should be monitored periodically. This medication may cause fluid retention and edema in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, or kidney disease, so those with these conditions should consult a doctor before taking it. It should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the later stages, as it may be harmful to the fetus. It is also advisable not to use this medication while breastfeeding as it can transfer into breast milk and affect the newborn. Caution is advised for children, especially infants under 2 years of age, as safety has not been established for this age group. Elderly patients are at higher risk for gastrointestinal bleeding or other side effects, so they should start at the minimum dose and use caution. Due to numerous drug interactions, especially with other anti-inflammatory drugs, antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, etc., it is crucial to consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking these medications.
