Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used as an adjunct to help control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. It can be administered alone or in combination with other medications, along with dietary and exercise regimens. This contributes to effective control of blood sugar levels and helps improve diabetes management.
The recommended dose for this medication is 5 mg once daily. It can be taken regardless of meals.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or other components. It is not safe for patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction or those who have had a myocardial infarction are also advised against using this medication. When used with other medications that may cause hypoglycemia, especially insulin or sulfonylurea drugs, there may be an increased risk of hypoglycemia, so caution is advised. Experience with this medication in heart failure patients is limited, so it should be used carefully. Acute pancreatitis may occur during treatment with this medication; therefore, if severe abdominal pain persists, treatment should be stopped immediately and a consultation with a physician is required. Skin conditions such as bullous pemphigoid may occur; therefore, if blisters or skin erosion develop, medical personnel should be informed immediately. Various adverse reactions, including hypoglycemia, have been reported with this medication, so if any abnormal symptoms appear during treatment, a physician should be consulted immediately. Severe joint pain may occur; therefore, if joint pain worsens, intake of this medication should be stopped and a professional should be consulted. Use of this medication is not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and nursing mothers should be cautious as this medication may be excreted in breast milk. Safety and efficacy in children under 10 years old and adolescents aged 10 to 17 have not been sufficiently established, so the use of this medication is not recommended. Elderly patients can use this medication without specific dose adjustments, and it can also be administered without dose adjustments in patients with impaired kidney or liver function. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so general supportive treatment such as the removal of incompletely absorbed substances from the gastrointestinal tract and monitoring of symptoms should be implemented. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container can lead to accidents or quality degradation, so caution is advised.

This medication may be sensitive to air and moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, it is best to avoid extremely hot or cold places and to store it at room temperature, between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius.
