This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of Pimasartan Potassium. It helps improve blood pressure control, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for adults is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with insufficient blood pressure control on monotherapy with Pimasartan 30 mg, 30/2.5 mg can be administered. For patients with insufficient blood pressure control on monotherapy with Pimasartan 60 mg, 60/2.5 mg can be administered.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy for pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years have not been established.

Precautions

This drug may cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn, especially during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This drug should not be used in patients with allergies to its active ingredients or related substances, pregnant or lactating women, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, patients with moderate to severe liver dysfunction, and patients with bile duct obstruction. Patients with certain renal insufficiencies or who are taking specific medications, as well as those with genetic metabolism disorders such as lactose intolerance, should avoid taking this drug. Special caution is needed when administering this drug to patients with low blood volume or salt deficiency, reduced kidney function, renal artery hypertension, aortic or mitral stenosis, severe hypotension, and elderly patients. This drug can cause allergic reactions to certain dye components, so patients with sensitivities to these components should use it cautiously. During treatment, side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, urinary disturbances, insomnia, and flushing may occur; if these symptoms are severe, consulting a doctor is advised. Blood pressure may drop too low, so monitoring should be conducted when starting or increasing the dose, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypotension symptoms arise. This drug can affect kidney function, so patients with kidney diseases require regular checks. Drug interactions may occur when taken with other antihypertensives, specific diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., so inform your doctor about all medications being taken. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a doctor before taking this medication and should preferably stop breastfeeding or taking the medication while breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established, and use is not recommended. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought for proper treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and care should be taken not to transfer it to another container as it may adversely affect the quality of the drug.
