How to take

Adult dose

Take one extended-release tablet of this medication 100/1000 mg once daily. Patients taking this medication at 50/500 mg extended-release or 50/1000 mg extended-release should take two tablets at once, once daily. To reduce gastrointestinal side effects caused by metformin, this medication should be taken once daily in the evening with food, gradually increasing the dosage. 1. Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin and is used for diabetes treatment. While taking this medication, severe allergic reactions may occur, so if symptoms such as rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face or lips occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Acute pancreatitis, a serious inflammation of the pancreas, may develop, so if abdominal pain, vomiting, or persistent abdominal discomfort occurs, you should quickly inform a healthcare professional. Patients with moderate or greater reduction in kidney function, dehydration, severe infections, heart failure, or acute myocardial infarction should not take this medication. Patients scheduled for iodine contrast examinations should discontinue this medication for a certain period before and after the examination and should restart it only after kidney function has been confirmed to be normal. It is advisable not to use this medication in pregnant women or those likely to become pregnant, as well as in breastfeeding women. This medication carries a risk of hypoglycemia, thus caution should be exercised during missed or irregular meals and excessive exercise; symptoms of hypoglycemia may appear when combined with other antidiabetic medications. While taking this medication, regular monitoring of kidney function, blood tests, and vitamin B12 levels are important. Patients with liver function impairment or severe liver disease should avoid taking this medication. Alcohol may increase the risk of side effects from this medication, so excessive drinking should be avoided while on treatment. Patients scheduled for surgery should stop taking this medication 48 hours before the surgery and resume only after oral intake has normalized and kidney function has recovered. Elderly patients should have their dosage adjusted considering their kidney function, and regular monitoring of kidney function is necessary. In case of overdose, visit a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment; some components may be removed by dialysis.

Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, rash, exfoliative skin diseases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, acute pancreatitis, lactic acidosis, hypoglycemia, acute renal failure, severe joint pain with disability, bullous pemphigoid, elevated liver enzymes, liver abnormalities (jaundice), severe edema or urinary problems (including elevated blood pressure and systemic edema)
