It is also advised that women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding avoid using this medication. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 12 years of age have not been sufficiently established, so usage in this age group is not recommended. If skin irritation symptoms, such as dryness, itching, or redness occur while using this drug, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. To prevent the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it is important to check the sensitivity of the infecting bacteria and use this medication only for the necessary duration. Antibiotic-associated colitis may occur; therefore, if diarrhea worsens, discontinue use immediately and undergo appropriate testing. In mild cases of colitis, recovery may occur with just cessation of the medication, but in severe cases, intravenous fluids or electrolyte supplementation and professional treatment may be needed.
