Improvement of symptoms and urinary flow in benign prostatic hyperplasia, reduction of surgical necessity
This medication helps improve symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. The enlarged prostate gradually decreases, leading to an easier flow of urine and improved urination comfort. Additionally, it reduces the frequency of sudden urinary obstruction such as acute urinary retention. Consequently, this decreases the need for surgical treatments such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. Overall, it effectively improves symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
As Finasteride, 5 mg should be taken orally once daily regardless of meals. Even if symptoms improve, a minimum treatment duration of 6 months is necessary.
This drug should not be used by children or women. In particular, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not touch broken pieces of this medication, as they may pose a potential risk to male fetuses.
