This medication is used to lower total cholesterol, bad LDL cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, as well as to increase good HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, especially in heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia and non-familial hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It should be taken in combination with dietary adjustments and is helpful for patients who cannot manage cholesterol levels through diet alone. Additionally, this medication can help prevent atherosclerotic vascular disease by improving lipid levels in patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease. It is important to identify and properly treat any dyslipidemia caused by other diseases before using this medication, and regular blood tests are necessary before use. This medication helps maintain a healthy vascular condition by improving lipid metabolism in the body.

Precautions

This medication is primarily used to lower cholesterol levels. During treatment, attention should be paid to the occurrence of muscle pain, muscle weakness, or muscle pain accompanied by fatigue and fever. If these symptoms occur or if there is a significant increase in muscle-related test results, inform a doctor immediately, and discontinue the medication if necessary. Patients with impaired liver function or abnormally high liver enzyme levels should not use this medication or should consult a doctor before use. Symptoms of liver damage include nausea, vomiting, and fatigue, and if these symptoms occur, medication should be stopped, and medical consultation should be sought.
